Klaytn is a blockchain platform created by Korean tech giant Kakao, known for products like KakaoBank, KakaoTalk, and KakaoTaxi. Kaia is a hard fork of the Klaytn chain, and the chain ID remains unchanged. The Kaia blockchain is aimed to launch at the end of June 2024.

Funding

Klaytn raised $110.2 million in multiple funding rounds from among others Hashed Fund and Chain Capital.

Tokenomics

KAIA is a rebrand from KLAY, but there will be changes in supply due to the merger of Klaytn and Finschia chains. KAIA is the platform-native cryptocurrency of the Kaia Blockchain, used to enhance the security of the Kaia Blockchain through staking or to pay transaction fees.
